The new Ford EcoBoost is a direct injection, turbocharged, variable valve timing engine with twin balancer shafts, designed to produce all the performance and driving pleasure of its larger counterparts. Using a combination of high pressure direct fuel injection, a smaller capacity and lighter engine, Ford's EcoBoost produces more power and torque - making its 4-cylinder 2.0L engine comparable to that of a 6-cylinder 3.0L car! It also provides fuel consumption and emission reductions of up to 20% when compared to traditional petrol engines of a similar capacity.
